Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Chin Wax.

Most clients enjoy smooth chin for three to six weeks, depending on hair growth cycles and individual factors. Regular waxing can slow regrowth and make hairs finer, extending time between appointments. We recommend scheduling every four weeks for consistent results.

Sensation varies, but chin waxing can feel similar to lip waxing—brief and manageable. Our technicians use techniques to minimize discomfort and apply soothing products afterward. Communicate sensitivity and we’ll adjust pressure and speed for your comfort.

Avoid exfoliating or using strong actives 24–48 hours before your appointment. Ensure skin is clean and dry, free of heavy creams or makeup. If you have recent sunburn or irritation, reschedule to prevent further sensitivity and better results.

We recommend pausing retinol, retinoids or strong acids at least 72 hours before waxing to reduce irritation risk. If unsure, consult your skincare provider or inform your technician so we can adjust products and timing for safer waxing.

Apply a cool compress and a soothing, alcohol-free lotion to calm the area. Avoid sun exposure, exfoliation and heavy makeup for 24–48 hours. Keep the area clean and moisturized to prevent ingrown hairs and minimize redness.

Most skin and hair types tolerate chin waxing well, but certain medical conditions, recent chemical peels, or acne treatments can increase risk. We perform a consultation and patch test when necessary to confirm suitability and recommend alternatives if waxing isn’t appropriate.
