Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Gel Polish Change.

A Gel Polish Change typically lasts up to 2–3 weeks when cared for. Longevity depends on nail prep, daily activities, and avoiding harsh chemicals or repeated water exposure. Schedule reapplication when you see visible growth or wear.

This service does not include polish removal. Please select our Polish Removal service if you have old polish or enhancements. Professional removal prevents damage and ensures the new gel adheres properly for the best results.

Gel polish is safe for healthy natural nails but consult your technician if nails are very thin or damaged. Professional application and removal minimize risk; avoid removing gel at home to prevent nail bed or surface damage.

Protect your gel manicure by applying cuticle oil daily, wearing gloves for chores, avoiding picking at edges, and limiting prolonged water exposure. These habits help maintain shine and extend the 2–3 week wear time.

Gel polish can sometimes be applied over well-maintained enhancements, but it depends on the enhancement condition and technician assessment. For acrylics or extensions, tell us when booking so we can recommend the correct service.

Professional removal is recommended: your technician will gently file the topcoat, apply gel remover, wait a few minutes, then carefully push the softened gel off. Avoid peeling or prying to prevent natural nail damage.
