This enhancement adds both strength and length, making it a common choice for nail biters or those with weak nails. When applied and removed professionally, hard gel does not cause nail damage. Note that removal requires filing by a technician because hard gel is not porous like regular gel polish.
Application and shaping process
The service begins with preparing the natural nails and applying a bonding agent to create a secure base. Hard gel is then built in layers over tips or directly on the natural nail, with each layer cured under a UV/LED lamp to gradually shape and strengthen the structure.
After building and refining the shape, your technician finishes with two coats of gel polish and a topcoat, followed by cuticle oil and a nourishing hand massage. Expect a salon visit that is scheduled for Duration: 60 minutes; refills and repainting are available a few times before a full new set is needed.
Care, removal, longevity
With proper care a Hard Gel Full Set typically lasts about 3-4 weeks. Local seasonality drives demand—clients often book hard-gel sets ahead of May and June for summer activities and again in December for holiday events—because the enhancement holds up well during active periods and travel.
